NCCAT Create Your Own NC Virtual Reality Adventure
October 11 - 14 in Cullowhee, NC
The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) offers a variety of programs for PreK-12 educators in North Carolina public schools, including charter schools. A list of their upcoming programs is available online, and it includes the Create Your Own NC VR Adventure course, which could be done in any World Language and/or as part of a collaborative project with international partners or for a global education focus.
The Create Your Own NC VR Adventure course examines how teachers and students can create virtual reality projects to experience our state, local, and national parks, as well as historical sites. Educators learn how to collect digital artifacts of the places in our state and how to use smartphones, mobile devices, various apps, and free websites to create virtual reality projects that foster engagement, critical thinking, and creativity. The interactive VR experiences expand beyond traditional digital projects like slide presentations, posters, infographics, and brochures. Once finished, the adventures that are created will then be shared with others through #GoOpenNC.
