2020 Charter School Application Updates

The State Board of Education (SBE) voted to accept CSAB's recommendations for the 2020 standard timeline charter school applications. The five approved applicants will now enter the Ready to Open process. Applicant instructions and information regarding the upcoming 2021 application cycle will be posted to the Office of Charter School's webpage.

Amendments and Presentations

The CSAB heard two amendment requests: CE Academy's Request to Decrease Enrollment and Movement School Eastland's Request to Increase Enrollment. CE's request was tabled until next month's RTO presentation and Movement School Eastland's was recommended for approval by the SBE.

The CSAB heard informative presentations from the Superintendent's Educator Engagement Advisor, Ms. Julie Pittman, and from myFutureNC. In addition, several low-performing schools made presentations and gave updates to the CSAB.
