This café's conversation will be on collecting evidence with LinguaFolio. This is an informal chat, so we will start with a few guest panelists sharing how they use LinguaFolio in their classrooms and then open up the discussion for others to ask questions, talk about what the panelists shared, and think aloud about ideas they have on using LinguaFolio.

The World Language Spring Webinar Series continues this month with broadcasts focused on a review of celebrations, milestones, and achievements with the current World Language Essential Standards, along with program advocacy tips and tools. The establishment of the Global Languages Endorsement (GLE), North Carolina’s Seal of Biliteracy, and the growth of different types of language programs across the K-12 continuum, will be described from different perspectives.

Global Languages Endorsement (GLE), NC's Seal of Biliteracy

NC Class of 2020 GLE, NC's Seal of Biliteracy, Results & Impact Webinar

4:00 - 5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 30

Join us to learn more about the results from the Class of 2020 with the Global Languages Endorsement (GLE), NC’s Seal of Biliteracy. We will be exploring the most recent data, along with an overview of the impact that this diploma endorsement has on student recognition and future success. We will also discuss the Seal of Biliteracy from different perspectives, such as local celebrations and national research.

 

All K - 20 administrators, teachers and researchers are welcome, and every high school is encouraged to have at least one teacher and one school counselor attend this webinar so that information can be shared locally. Please submit this form (also linked on the GLE graphic) to register.

 

Renewal Credits & Archived Materials Available

Individuals who actively participate in the live broadcast of a webinar from NCDPI World Languages can earn contact hour(s) towards a CEU for licensure renewal. The contact hour comes in the form of an email with an attached certificate approximately one week after the broadcast.

 

Note: Local Education Agencies (LEAs) or districts and charter schools, also called Public School Units (PSUs), must approve professional development offerings.

 

An archive of the materials from each webinar (presentation slides, handouts, hyperlinks, etc.) and a recording of the broadcast are posted approximately one week following the live broadcast so that these materials can be used and/or adapted for local professional development.

Chinese Language Teachers Association of North Carolina Spring 2021

CLTA-NC 2021 Spring Workshop

Saturday, March 13 @ 1:00 - 4:00 pm

The Chinese Language Teacher Association of North Carolina (CLTA-NC) will be hosting a spring workshop on performance assessment and ACTFL's 6 core practices on Saturday, March 13, at 1-4 pm (EDT). The keynote speakers are Matt Coss (George Washington University) and Shin Chi Fame Kao (University of Utah). This workshop is free for current CLTA-NC members, and $8 for non-members. The mission of CLTA-NC is to provide professional development and serve as a networking resource for Chinese language teachers at all educational levels across North Carolina.
