- Integrating SEL into Specific Arts Education Content Areas Webinars
On October 21, 2020, the Arts Ed team presented a webinar on how to Integrate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) into Arts Education disciplines (You can watch the recording HERE) covering the new Guidance Documents for Arts Education and SEL. The overwhelming feedback was that teachers wanted time to digest the information and to have a conversation with the writers of the documents from each discipline. We heard you!
Throughout January, we will host sessions where you can come interact with the amazing A+ Fellows who wrote the suggested activities for each of the Arts Ed content areas: Visual Art, Theatre Art, Music, and Dance.
If you'd like to learn more about what NCDPI is doing to support SEL in Arts Education, visit our ARTS + SEL Webpage.
You can register for as many sessions as you'd like! All sessions will be recorded and archived in our Webinar Archives for anyone who is unable to attend the sessions live. CEUs are available for attending.

North Carolina's Vision for Comprehensive Arts Education
In today's globally competitive world, innovative thinking and creativity are essential for all school children. High quality, standards-based instruction in the arts develops these skills and effectively engages, retains, and prepares future-ready students for graduation and success in an entrepreneurial economy. Dance, music, theatre arts, and visual arts, taught by licensed arts educators and integrated throughout the curriculum, are critical to North Carolina's 21st century education.
