Every School Healthy
The American School Health Association (ASHA) is pleased to announce the release of Every School Healthy. Every School Healthy is a special open access issue of the Journal of School Health, supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). With fourteen invited articles and two commentaries, the issue offers a comprehensive picture of the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) framework in action as a tool for equity in promoting healthy school environments for students.
The articles explore:
- the dynamics in a broad array of schools and communities that foster or stand in the way of creating healthier school environments;
- the policy levers available to promote change at the local, state and federal levels; and
- opportunities to build public and political will to improve students’ overall health and well-being in schools.
The issue can be accessed https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/toc/17461561/2020/90/12

Springboard to Active Schools
Since 2016, Springboard to Active Schools supports CDC-funded state departments of health and/or education to promote active school environments in school districts and schools across the country. Grounded in the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child model, an active school environment (also known as a Comprehensive School Physical Activity Program) is a multi-component approach by which school districts and schools use all opportunities for students to be physically active.
