The North Carolina Charter Schools Advisory Board met remotely on Monday, July 13, 2020.
Meeting agendas are available on the State Board of Education’s website under the Meetings tab. There you can also find presentation materials for each agenda item, where applicable.
The NC Charter Schools Advisory Board meetings are live-streamed and available on the NCDPI YouTube Channel.

CSAB Administrative Updates
The CSAB voted on Chair and Vice Chair positions at this month’s meeting. Mr. Alex Quigley will continue to serve as Chair and Ms. Cheryl Turner was approved as Vice Chair. Mr. Steven Walker’s term expires at the end of December.

PERFORMANCE FRAMEWORK
Mr. Joseph Letterio, OCS Consultant, presented the 2019 Performance Framework report. The report presents data on charter school academic, operational, and financial compliance. The report will move to the State Board of Education for discussion at its August 2020 meeting.
Upcoming CSAB Meetings
There is no August CSAB meeting. The next CSAB meeting will take place September 14-15, 2020.
Amendments
The CSAB recommended approval of three amendment requests: Telra Institute’s Enrollment Increase and Weighted Lottery, Sallie B. Howard’s Weighted Lottery, and PAVE SE Raleigh’s EMO Separation. Those requests will move to the State Board of Education for discussion at its August 2020 meeting.
