P-EBT and Data Collection Requirements
School Nutrition Administrators:
The NCDPI Accountability Services Division, in collaboration with the School Nutrition Division, is supporting two spring data collections of Economically Disadvantaged Student (EDS) data. While this data will serve several purposes, we are targeting these dates to support the issuance of Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) benefits to help families purchase food for their children.
The first data collection will contain data from a file created by School Nutrition on April 30, 2020, submitted no later than May 13, 2020. The second data collection will contain data from a file created by School Nutrition on the last day of school scheduled in PowerSchool or June 10, 2020 submitted no later than June 11, 2020.
The process for collecting EDS data will remain the same as in prior data collections. All National School Lunch Program Participating (Non-CEP) districts and schools are to submit the two EDS file as defined in the updated 2019-20 Economically Disadvantaged Students Collection document. Updated guidance and details of the processing of these two files will be provided through the Regional Accountability Coordinators. It is expected that there will be two files collected, with the most up-to-date information as possible, in the June file.
Please work together share files in a secure and safe manner for uploading. Follow local security transfer processes to deliver files between School Nutrition and Accountability staff. If district/school staff are unable to complete these processes securely and/or safely, please contact the Regional Accountability Coordinator for support.
We appreciate your extra effort to help children and families receive the new COVID-19 benefits that may be available to them.
This will be discussed during the weekly call on Wednesday.
Thank you,
