Locating Instructional Resources on New NCDPI Website

homepage NCDPI website

The N.C. Department of Public Instruction launched a new website in early December. Please update your bookmarks to reflect the new website address - dpi.nc.gov. Those who use our old website address will be automatically redirected to the new website. Schools and/or districts should review internal documents and update any printed or online information that reference the old NCDPI website address - www.ncpublicschools.org - and update it with the new address.

To help you navigate the new website, we’re providing directions on how to access some of the most popular content.

K-12 Standards, Curriculum and Instruction Resources

Visit the K-12 Standards, Curriculum and Instruction website to access the Standard Course of Study and related materials and resources, or follow the path outlined below:

Districts & Schools > Classroom Resources > K-12 Standards, Curriculum, and Instruction > Standard Course of Study

Accessing Content Areas

To view specific content areas, Google Sites (if applicable) as well as authoritative standards documents, visit the Standard Course of Study page. Each content area listed is a link to unpacking documents, crosswalks, glossaries and more. Find the content area you want to view, then select the link that expands to reveal a purple box on the right. Select the “View all Documents” link in the box and drill down to information related to that content area.

Programs and Initiatives

Several programs and initiatives are directly related to the work of the K-12 Standards, Curriculum and Instruction Division, including: American Indian Education, Character Education, Dual Language Immersion, Global Education, Personal Financial Literacy, STEM Education and Leadership, Teaching the Holocaust/Holocaust Council, and the United States Senate Youth. Select the Programs and Initiatives link in the right navigation menu on the K-12 Standards, Curriculum and Instruction website to access these resources.

Specialized Instructional Support

Specialized Instructional Support Personnel (SISP), also known as student support services or pupil services, includes prevention, intervention, transition and follow-up services for students and families. To access the information for a specific support area, visit the Specialized Instructional Support page, or follow the outlined path below:

Educators > Specialized Instructional Support

Testing and School Accountability

Testing and School Accountability oversees the development, and implementation of student assessments, like the Check-Ins, End- of-Grade, and End-of-Course tests, and North Carolina Final Exams. To access the information for test specifications, released tests and more, visit the State Tests page on the Testing and School Accountability website or follow the path listed below:

Districts & Schools > Testing and School Accountability > State Tests

We appreciate your patience as we work to complete the website transition. If you need assistance locating specific content or have questions or concerns, please contact dpiwebmaster@dpi.nc.gov.
