K-12 Standards, Curriculum, and Instruction Resources

The primary purpose of the K-12 Standards, Curriculum, and Instruction Division is to serve as the authoritative source for the review, revision, and support for the implementation of state content standards in the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. Additionally, the Division supports multiple legislative and grant-related programs, initiatives, and reporting requirements.

Testing and School Accountability

The Accountability Services Division assists stakeholders in understanding and gauging student academic achievement against state and national standards. Within this division is the Test Development Section. Different from the content area sections in the K-12 Standards, Curriculum, and Instruction Division, the Test Development Section oversees the design, development, and implementation of student assessments, like the Check-Ins, EOGs, EOCs, NCFEs, etc. The Test Development Section and other NCDPI Sections collaborate on topics related to student assessments.

Now that the website has launched, DPI will work diligently to make sure support materials are updated with the appropriate links.  Please note that schools and/or districts may need to update internal documents should they contain links to the former ncpublicschools.org domain.

Thank you for your support and patience as we work to complete this transition. If you have questions or need assistance in locating K-12 Standards, Curriculum, and Instruction information, please contact Amy Betsill at amy.betsill@dpi.nc.gov.
