EL Teacher Network
The NCDPI ESL/Title III Team is organizing an EL Teacher Network for the State. The network will offer in-service teachers the opportunity to work together to improve their professional learning network as they collaborate with other teachers statewide and provide feedback to the NCDPI ESL/Title III team on the PD that we offer.
The network will provide opportunities for teachers who serve English learners (ELs) to explore resources and interact with colleagues to discuss and reflect on classroom instruction and student learning.
The initial steps creating the network have included consolidating a leadership team. We are grateful for the support and enthusiasm from the following educators who have joined this team: Ambar Alcalá de Mejia (Johnston County Schools), Neera Bhat (Wilson County Schools), Gerson Correa (Halifax County Schools),
Astrid Emily Francis (Cabarrus County Schools), Emily Golightly (Carteret County Schools), Christopher Goodnight (Kannapolis City Schools) Sandra Lopez Greenfield (Public Schools of Robeson County), Joy Hamm (Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools), Mabel Eliana Lamprea (Wayne County Schools), Omar Lemus (Henderson County Schools), Vivian Micolta Simmons (Iredell-Statesville Schools), Anthony Nesbit (Craven County Schools), Luisa Palacio (Northampton County Schools), Nidia Ramirez (Central Park School for Children), Audrey Shemesh (Henderson County Schools), Lisa Sibaja (Ashe County Schools), and Fernando Valverde (Lexington City Schools).
