National DL/I School Directory & Website
The organization traces its roots from the Seal of Biliteracy movement, first in California and then nationwide. Their mission is to create a community for dual language/immersion (DL/I) school leaders, educators, advocates and parents to help students achieve biliteracy through DL/I. This website is one way in which they are fulfilling that mission!
The site includes resources for parents, teachers and schools, such as:
The site is building a National Dual Language School Directory, and you can register your school and see who else is listed by clicking on the interactive map. At the time this article was published, fewer than 20 of the 170+ DL/I programs in NC were listed, but you can change that fact!
Now that you know about DualLanguageSchools.org here are some steps to take:
- Register your DL/I program using the online School Registration form.
- Nominate an outstanding NC DL/I Teacher or an awesome NC DL/I School for recognition on the site. [Watch the site for information about when nominations open.]
- Check out the many resources on DualLanguageSchools.org.
- Share with a friend!
Also, this site has been added to the Resources page on the new NC DL/I Google Site.
