21st Century Community Learning Centers grants
DPI has issued the 2018-19
request for proposals for the 2018-19 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC)
competitive grant program. The 21st CCLC grants support the creation
of community learning centers that provide academic-enrichment opportunities
during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend
high-poverty and low-performing schools.
The CCLC program helps students
meet state and local student standards in core academic subjects, such as
reading and math; offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that
can complement their regular academic programs; and offers literacy and other
educational services to the families of participating children.
The 2018-19 RFP, including application
guidance, application worksheets, and other resources are available on the 21st CCLC webpage. Applications
are now being accepted through the web-based grants management system, the
Comprehensive Continuous Improvement Plan (CCIP). The deadline for submitting the 2018-19 application is May 30. If
you have any questions, please contact donna.brown@dpi.nc.gov.
