    April is Financial Literacy Month

Did you know that April has been designated as National Financial Literacy Month and that the last week of April has been recognized as Money Smart Week?

We are pleased to announce that NCDPI’s K-12 Social Studies Team will be partnering with the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond: Charlotte Branch, the North Carolina Council on Economic Education (NCCEE), and the Office of the Secretary of State of North Carolina to conduct a series of webinars on Financial Literacy throughout the month of April. The webinar series is a way for us to provide support regarding North Carolina’s legislative requirement that states that “each student shall receive personal financial literacy instruction.”

The webinars will provide an overview of financial literacy in North Carolina schools. In addition, our partners will provide information about the organization they represent, the services that are offered, and the variety of resources and curricula, including lesson plans, simulations, videos, games, and more that are provided for K-12 educators and students.
