K-12 Standards, Curriculum and Instruction Division Update

First, let me personally say thank you for your leadership in NC Public Schools! What you do each day changes lives and opens doors of opportunity for the students, families and the communities you serve. This correspondence is to provide information on leadership changes in the Division of K-12 Standards, Curriculum and Instruction at the NCDPI.

I have enjoyed serving public schools in NC as the Director of K-12 Standards, Curriculum and Instruction since July 2015. The knowledge, skills and professional relationships acquired during this time will be invaluable in my next leadership role as Executive Director – Professional Learning and Leadership in Guilford County Schools beginning November 1, 2017.

Christie Lynch Ebert (pictured left), currently serving as the NCDPI Section Chief for K-12 Program Areas, will be the Interim Director for the K-12 Standards, Curriculum and Instruction division effective November 1, 2017 until further notice. Christie joined the NC Department of Public Instruction in 1999 as an Arts Education Consultant. In August of 2013, she became Section Chief for the areas of Arts Education, English as a Second Language/Title III, School Counseling, and World Languages. Prior to joining NCDPI, Christie taught in the Wake County Public School System. After leaving the classroom, Christie served with the Wake County Central Office as a member of the Instructional Assistance Team, where she traveled to schools throughout the system to work with the entire instructional program. Christie enjoys working with all areas in the Standard Course of Study, and has a passion for a well-rounded education where students are healthy, safe, supported, engaged, and challenged.

Best to you all and I am looking forward to our paths crossing in new ways as my new professional opportunity brings me back to LEA leadership.

Best,

Tiffany
