Reflections from Mr. Alex Quigley, Chair, Charter Schools Advisory Board
Greetings to all of our Charter School Directors and Staff!
We had two days of applicant interviews last week and are
pleased to share that of the applicant groups we have reviewed/interviewed, we are recommending 9 proposed schools to the SBE for approval.
5 applicant groups recommended to the SBE received unanimous votes. We still have pending reviews/recommendations to complete for this application round. It is encouraging to see
such strong applicants that have developed strong, innovative plans.
We hope February continues to go well for you. Our board
will meet again in March to conduct our final round of initial applicant
reviews for the 2016-17 cycle. We are working hard to send all final
recommendations on new charters to the SBE by May 2017.
