The OCS will host its 2016 Charter School Leadership Institute October 10 - 11, 2016 at The Expedition School in Hillsborough, NC. The two-day event will feature relevant charter school topics and several guest speakers.

Training Opportunity
 

Board members from charter schools that are opening in 2017 are required to attend 5 face-to-face planning year sessions from September to January.  The school leader and some of the board members are also required to attend the New Charter School Leaders Institute in June.  

 

As a customer service, the Office of Charter Schools continues to open up these sessions to all charter schools.  If you have a new school leader and/or a new board member interested in attending any of the sessions, he or she must register to attend.  Please note the schedule below:

NC Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) Updates

 

State Advisory Council on Indian Education's Culturally Responsive Instruction Committee to Meet

 

The State Advisory Council on Indian Education’s Culturally Responsive Instruction Committee will meet via conference call on Monday, Sept. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Committee members will continue their discussion of culturally responsive instructional resources for American Indian students.

 

 

The public is welcome to listen but may not actively participate. To listen to the Committee discussion, please call 872.240.3212. The access code is 921.766.293. Questions regarding the meeting should be directed to Debora Williams.

Scheduling Course Enrollment for Math I, II, & III (2013 Content Standards) Credit Recovery


Math I, II, and III (2013 content standards) will only be available for credit recovery using the old content standards in Fall 2016. 



Beginning in Spring 2017, these credits must be recovered using the new NC Math 1, 2, and 3 (2016 content standards) courses. The attached guidance explains how to schedule credit recovery for the old content standards math courses depending on the course being used to recover the credit.
