Announcing Summer Workshops
 Global-Ready Schools/Districts Applicants and Global Educator Digital Badge Candidates
The Department of Public Instruction in
partnership with three of the Regional Education Service Alliances (RESAs) will
be offering two Global Education Professional Development Workshops this

Global-Ready School and/or Global-Ready District
Applicant Workshop
This workshop is for those schools that intend
to submit or are exploring submission of an application to the NCDPI for either
an Acknowledgement or full Designation status by April 2017 and for
districts that are intending or exploring submission by December 2016. Helga
Fasciano, Special Assistant for Global Education at NCDPI, will provide
coaching on the narrative and selection of appropriate evidences for the
application. Schools or Districts attending this workshop may send up to five

Global Educator Digital Badge Capstone Project
Workshop
This workshop is geared to those educators that
are officially working on their GEDB and are ready to
work on the Capstone Project (CP) requirement. This workshop is also for school and district
staff that will be vetting the Capstone Project prior to state-level submission
for review. The workshop will provide information about the resources that will
be used to vet the Capstone Project at the local and state level. The afternoon
time is for candidates to work on their CPs. Helga Fasciano, Special
