Course and Credit Requirements Chart Helps Families and Schools Plan for High School Graduation

Graduation

High school students attending North Carolina’s public schools must meet state course and credit requirements in addition to any local requirements in order to graduate. A credit and course requirements chart is available on the K-12 Standards, Curriculum and Instruction website to help students and their families and school counselors determine the courses and credits they need to graduate. To view the state course and credit requirements look for the section that matches when a student entered ninth grade for the first time. School counselors are available to answer additional questions about graduation requirements.
