Sampson has tested positive for Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza
 CLINTON – On January 29th, 2025, the North Carolina Department of Agriculture reported a second positive case of highly pathogenic avian influenza in Sampson County at a separate commercial turkey operation. There have been no human cases of HPAI in Sampson County.
Sampson County Health Department is working closely with North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services as well as North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to monitor those individuals working directly with the commercial turkey operation to quickly identify, test and treat potential human cases to ensure safety of residents.
