Police Department Sets Up Phone Lines

To Help People Find Abandoned Vehicles

Citizens can call the City of Raleigh Police Department for assistance in finding their vehicles that were left on area streets during Wednesday’s winter storm. The numbers to call are 919-996-1220 or 919-996-1221.

The City of Raleigh did not tow abandoned vehicles but moved them out of the road right-of-way so plows and traffic could get through. Motorists should be able to find these vehicles because they were moved not far from where they were abandoned. Many other vehicles, however, were towed from potentially dangerous situations by the North Carolina Department of Transportation and the N.C. Highway Patrol.

In addition to the Raleigh Police Department phone numbers, citizens who cannot find their vehicles can contact NCDOT at 919-733-3861. Do not call 9-1-1 or the City of Raleigh’s Non-Emergency Call Center. The call center was activated Wednesday but is no longer in operation now that the storm has passed.
