City Council Approves Contract for Sanitary Sewer Capacity Study

The Raleigh City Council voted unanimously today to approve a contract with Black & Veatch to provide professional services for a sanitary sewer capacity study. The contract amount is $798,000.

The study will provide a comprehensive analysis of the entire service area of the City of Raleigh’s sanitary sewer system. It will update the previous capacity study, done in 2008. The study will include information on temporary flow monitoring, hydraulic model update, expansion of the existing model to ensure adequate facilities within redevelopment areas, updated flow projections, capacity analysis and needed capacity improvements.

A final report on the study is expected to be complete in December.
