The Raleigh Police Department is seeking public assistance as it works to locate two juvenile females who are believed to have run away together on December 14. Family members last saw them at their residences in the 2800 block of Filbert Street on that date.

While no foul play is known to be involved in the disappearances, the department is attempting to locate the 14 and 12 year olds to help ensure their well being. A photos of each missing girl is attached.

Diane Laura Escobar, 14, is described as standing about 4 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 120 pounds. She has long black hair and a tattoo of a heart on her right hand. When last seen, she was wearing a navy hooded sweatshirt with a Hollister logo on its front.

Mildred Patricia Acosta, 12, is described as standing about 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 120-130 pounds. She has shoulder-length sandy brown hair and a piercing in her lower lip. When last seen, she was wearing black pants and a black sweater over a white shirt.

The girls may have had access to additional clothing since they were last seen.

Anyone who believes they know the whereabouts of either juvenile is asked to immediately contact law enforcement by calling 911. Information may also be provided by calling the RPD Tip Line at (919) 834-HELP or by going to the Raleigh CrimeStoppers Web site at www.raleighcrimestoppers.org for instructions on reporting a tip online or by text message.
