Residents Reminded To Observe Schedule For Leaf Collection
The City of Raleigh reminds residents that the curbside collection of loose leaves will not actually begin until Nov. 13. Due to Hurricane Sandy, crews will be making additional training passes around the City. In order to keep raked leaves from blowing into the street and ending up in the storm drains, residents should not rake leaves to the curb until crews begin addressing their zones. Raked leaves should always be at the back of the curb and not in the streets.
To find out when crews will arrive in your area, call the Leaf Line at any time at 919-996-3720. Visit: http://www.raleighnc.gov/ and type “leaf collection” into the search bar at the top of the page. Users can find a description and map of each zone and the date crews will be working in that zone.
Also, residents are reminded that bagged leaves can be placed at the curb any time of the year on your yard waste collection day.
