Buffaloe Road Aquatics Center Slide

Buffaloe Road Aquatic Center

The aquatic center opened on September 18. The center includes a 6,000 square foot recreational leisure pool, including a giant water slide, vortex, lazy river, three lap lanes, zero depth entry, tot-sized play features, volleyball net, basketball hoops, and concession.

Moore Square Master Plan

James Urban, a nationally recognized tree expert, will complete a tree investigation and inventory at Moore Square in preparation for redevelopment of the public square. The tree investigation and inventory is expected to be complete this fall and a comprehensive tree strategy for Moore Square will be presented to the City Council early next year.

Anne Gordon Center for Active Adults at Millbrook Exchange

Construction is complete and the new active adult center will open on October 1.

Parks and Recreation System Plan

The system plan kickoff was held on September 18 with the first meeting of the planning committee. The system plan project will be a 16-month comprehensive process that will shape the direction, development and delivery of the city’s parks and recreation services, facilities, and programs over the next 20 years.

Join us for a dedication ceremony for the Buffaloe Road Aquatic Center.  The event will be at 9:00 a.m. at 5908 Buffaloe Road.  

October 28

The Oak City Classics invites you and your friends to join the Raleigh community in its effort to break the world record for the longest Soul Train line.  Wear clothes that represent your generation and win a prize.
