House Creek Trail Grand Opening
After much anticipation, the House Creek Trail is nearing completion. Before it is officially open to the public, there are still a few minor construction tasks to finish including final inspections, safety fencing installation, and sign and wayfinding placement.
The 2.9 mile long House Creek Trail provides an important connection across the city, linking the Crabtree Creek Trail with the Reedy Creek Trail. The trail will also give North Raleigh residents a more direct route into Umstead State Park.
The trail extends from the eastern end of the pedestrian bridge over I-440 to the Crabtree Creek Trail at the intersection of Blue Ridge Road and Crabtree Valley Boulevard. This project includes pedestrian tunnels under Lake Boone Trail and Glen Eden Drive.
The grand opening for the trail is officially scheduled for Monday, September 24th at 4:00 P.M. For additional project information, please see the project website.
