Weekly yard waste collection starts September 8
The way Raleigh collects leaves is changing. Beginning on September 8, 2026, loose-leaf collection will be replaced with weekly yard waste pickup. This enhanced service will make things more consistent and reliable for residents like you! Be on the lookout for a tag with more information on your garbage bin in the coming weeks.
There has been a change to the City's code around bin placement at the curb. Residents should now ensure bins are at least three feet away from other objects, such as cars, mailboxes, light poles, and other bins. The code previously stated distances of at least five feet.
