Raleigh Parks collaborates with businesses and community-focused organizations to make a larger impact. We are very thankful for their support and here are a few recent highlights!
“250 Trees for 250 Years” – Raleigh Rotary
In partnership with the Rotary Club of Raleigh, the City is planting 250 oak trees across the city to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. The effort honors Raleigh’s identity as the “City of Oaks” while expanding tree canopy, improving air quality, and creating lasting environmental benefits for future generations. Be on the lookout for patriotic-themed ribbons on trees in the downtown area in the coming months.

Corporate and Non-Profit Collaboration
The City of Raleigh, Triangle Trails Initiative, and SAS recently worked together to host a trail volunteer day at Walnut Creek Wetland Center. Volunteers improved natural surface trails by spreading mulch, while building teamwork within the company volunteers. This park area in Southeast Raleigh is a unique feature in an urban city and offers many nature related programs to local residents. Thanks to Rashawn King, Director of Triangle Trails Initiative, and Cameron Gatlin, Sr Recreation and Fitness Program Coordinator at SAS to bring this project together.

Urban Farms Collaboration
Raleigh Parks is partnering with Raleigh City Farm to develop an urban farm at Marsh Creek Community Center, designed to expand access to fresh, healthy food while providing hands-on education opportunities. The project focuses on addressing food insecurity by connecting residents to locally grown produce and creating a space for learning, community building, and sustainable practices.
Marsh Creek Park Director, Jamie Quinn, states: “It’s my pleasure to welcome the team from Raleigh City Farm into our family at Marsh Creek Park. They bring an incredible amount of passion, knowledge, and experience, and we are so thrilled to see how they will help us to cultivate more than just produce – this urban farm partnership will empower people with the skills to grow their own food, increase access to healthy meals, teach people to cook, and bring our community closer through shared purpose and passion. “
