Update:
At approximately 7:10 p.m., Raleigh Police Department officers were serving a search warrant at 7101 Woodbend Drive in connection with a felony arrest warrant to locate Mr. Solomon Owens (26), who was wanted by the Garner Police Department.
As officers were about to enter the residence, the suspect shot at the officers. At least one officer returned fire.
Mr. Owens sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. He has since been released from the hospital and is now in Raleigh police custody.

In accordance with standard protocol for officer-involved shootings, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation has responded to the scene and is conducting an independent investigation. Our detectives are investigating Mr. Owen’s actions in this case. Our Internal Affairs department will conduct an administrative investigation focused on departmental policy compliance.
We will provide a five-day report to the City Manager, including more details about this incident.
