Re-cap of News Conference
On November 21, 2025, at approximately 11:39 a.m., Raleigh Police Department officers responded to 4420 Lake Boone Trail (Rex Hospital) following a report of a sexual assault that had already occurred.
The victim reported that a nurse had sexually assaulted them while they were coming under the effects of sedatives. During the course of the follow-up investigation, Raleigh Police Department detectives identified an additional victim connected to the case.
After consultation with the Wake County District Attorney’s Office, detectives obtained charges against Brayan Alvarez Ortiz. With the help of Guilford County S.O., Mr. Ortiz was taken into custody today by members of the department’s Fugitive Unit and has been processed on the charges listed below.
Charges:
- Sexual Contact Under Context of Medical Treatment x4
- Second Degree Forcible Sex Offense
- First Degree kidnapping x 4
- Sexual Battery x 4
