Raleigh Water Launching New Utility Portal & Announcing Payment Blackout

Raleigh Water is gearing up to launch a new utility billing portal on Wednesday, November 12, designed to make account management faster, easier, and more secure.

To prepare for this upgrade, there will be a payment and portal blackout period.

IMPORTANT: Payment Blackout Details

When: Friday, November 7 to Tuesday, November 11. The call center will be closed on Monday, November 10, and Tuesday, November 11.

What this means: You will not be able to access your account or make payments during this period.

Good news: Late fees and service disconnections are suspended starting November 7 until further notice.

Key Information for Customers

New Portal Launching Wednesday, November 12th

The new portal offers enhanced features like 24/7 account access, online payments, and direct access to our new Customer Care chat.

1. Attention Autopay Users: You May Need to Re-Enroll!

  • Bank Bill-Pay Users: No action needed; your payments will continue as usual 
  • Existing Portal Autopay Users: Your existing autopay schedules will END on November 7. You must re-enroll in the new portal.

2. Returning Users: Time to Create a New Account
To take advantage of the enhanced features, you'll need to create a new account.

But don't worry! It's up to you whether you'd like to create an account, and your utility service will NOT be affected if you don't register.

We've organized several in-person events for customers to stop by and get help from Raleigh Water staff. Visit RaleighNC.gov and search "billing portal" for a story that includes dates and times.

Please bring:

  • your current Raleigh Water account number;
  • your zip code; and,
  • optional: a mobile device (phone or tablet or laptop).
