In this month’s edition, we remember our colleague and friend Jermont Purifoy. Jermont was a dedicated public servant who served the City of Raleigh for over 20 years. As a Senior Planner, Jermont’s expertise and attention to detail helped guide Raleigh’s growth and shaped development in line with the City’s vision.
Jermont leaves a lasting legacy as a generous mentor, a supportive teammate, and a thoughtful friend. He will be remembered for his love of college football, sharp fashion sense, storytelling, and meaningful conversations. Whether talking policy or sports, Jermont had a gift for connecting with people. He often spoke of his favorite café in Wilmington, Something Fishy, and the joy he found in the little things.
Jermont’s warmth, wisdom, and passion made a lasting impact on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
