We’re excited to announce that Het Patel has been named Raleigh’s new Transit Assistant Director, officially stepping into the role on June 28!
Het is no stranger to Raleigh Transportation. He’s been a dedicated part of the team for the past six years, first serving as a Senior Transit Planner for three years before being promoted to Transit Planning Supervisor, where he’s helped guide our city’s transit planning through rapid growth and change.
Now, Het is stepping into a key leadership position—one previously held by David Eatman, who served as Transit Assistant Director for six years. Het has some big shoes to fill, but his vision, dedication, and proven leadership make him more than ready for the challenge.
When asked about what this opportunity means to him, Het shared: “I’m grateful for the opportunity to take a leadership role within the organization and continue to make a difference in providing safe, reliable, and accessible transportation options for the community.”
In his new role, Het will report to Transportation Director Paul Kallam and based out of Raleigh Union Station.
“I’m pleased to welcome Het to this new leadership position,” said Kallam. “He brings a strong sense of collaboration, problem-solving, and vision to our team. Raleigh is growing fast, and Het’s leadership will help our transit division rise to meet the needs of our community.”
Please join us in congratulating Het as he begins this exciting new chapter!
