Raleigh Water to Celebrate Ribbon Cutting for New State-of-the-Art Water Lab   

RALEIGH, NC (April 7, 2025) – Raleigh Water will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and offer tours for the media to celebrate the opening of its new state-of-the-art Drinking Water Compliance Laboratory on Wednesday, April 9, at 9 a.m. The event will take place at the brand-new 15,000-square-foot facility located at 10700 Star Road in Wake Forest. 

After years of planning, designing, and construction, this new facility marks a significant milestone in ensuring safe and reliable drinking water for more than 640,000 residents across Raleigh, Garner, Wake Forest, Rolesville, Knightdale, Wendell, and Zebulon. 

Director Whit Wheeler of Raleigh Water will deliver opening remarks, emphasizing the laboratory's advanced capabilities and its essential contribution to public health protection. A dedication ceremony will immediately follow. 

The new laboratory features advanced water testing equipment, dedicated office space, and ample storage, enabling Raleigh Water to analyze approximately 52,664 samples annually.  

Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the facility and witness firsthand the sophisticated operations that guarantee the quality of our community’s water.
