The City of Raleigh's Seasonal Leaf Collection Program is entering its second collection pass soon! Crews are currently completing pickup in Zones 3 and 4 in the first pass.
The second collection pass will begin in Zone 5 on Monday, February 17. As noted on the schedule, Zones 10, 11, 12, 1, 2, 3, and 4 are encouraged to prepare their leaves for pickup in advance. Leaf collection in these zones typically moves quickly, so please have your leaf piles ready before collection begins.
How to Prepare:
-
Leaves only: Ensure leaf piles are free of yard waste or trash.
-
No leaves in the street: Keep leaf piles off the street to avoid hazards for motorists and cyclists and to prevent storm drain blockages.
-
Placement: Place leaves in your yard between the curb and sidewalk, no more than six feet from the edge of the pavement.
Note: Weather can impact collection speed. Wet conditions significantly hinder leaf pickup efforts!
