The Raleigh Police Department identifies the injured officer as First Class Officer M.A. Gillick.
Officer Gillick has been employed with the RPD since June 2022 and proudly served our country in the Army as a Captain in Field Artillery with the 82nd Airborne. He was honorably discharged from the Army and joined the RPD in June 2022.
Officer Gillick is currently in critical condition and receiving exceptional care from the Wake Med Team.
The RPD expresses its most profound gratitude for the extraordinary care he is receiving and continues to ask for prayers from the community as he continues to heal.
