Black History Trolley Tour Saturday, February 8 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Mordecai Historic Park Join the Historic Raleigh Trolley for this special edition of our popular Black history tour highlighting Oberlin Village. Tours will begin at Mordecai Historic Park and travel to Oberlin, where passengers will disembark for a tour of the Historic Turner House and Oberlin Cemetery and learn about the neighborhood’s history of community and freedom. Digging Deeper: a Lecture by Rahnàwakęw Donnie McDowell Saturday, February 22 1 p.m. Mordecai Historic Park As Mordecai investigates its own archaeological footprint, the park will host a series of lectures with local experts sharing about their projects at historic sites, cemeteries, and more. Rahnàwakęw Donnie McDowell of the Tuscarora Nation will present a lecture discussing land claims, treaties, and discuss the Tuscarora nation’s history in the Raleigh area.
