Update:
The subject that was taken into custody is identified as Jaquez Anthony Brown, 24. Brown was served with outstanding warrants for Assault on a Female and Communicating Threats out of Durham.
After further investigation, Brown was determined to be directly involved in this incident and has been charged with Discharging a Weapon into Occupied Property, which is a felony.
This is an ongoing investigation, and additional arrests are possible.

On October 26, 2024, at approximately 1:35 PM, the Raleigh Police Department responded to multiple calls of shots being fired in a parking deck outside of Crabtree Valley Mall, 4325 Glenwood Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers located numerous shell casings and vehicles damaged from gunfire. There were no reports of injuries.
An adult male has been taken into custody; however, his involvement in this incident remains part of the ongoing investigation. Another suspect fled the area in a vehicle, struck another vehicle, and continued fleeing. There were no injuries related to this crash.
Officers and detectives are working closely with Crabtree Valley Mall personnel to secure the crime scene and collect anything of evidentiary value.
The mall is open for business. Areas around the parking deck near Macy’s will remain closed during the investigation.
