Illuminate Art Walk 2023

Raleigh Arts is excited to partner with the Downtown Raleigh Alliance for the fourth Illuminate Art Walk. This year’s show features 19 artworks including new installations by North Carolina light artists and a signature piece “Talking Heads” by international artist Viktor Vicsek of Limelight. 

On view: December 1st, 2023 - January 5th, 2024. Shining nightly beginning at 4:45pm.

2024 Piedmont Laureate Selected

Steven Petrow, a Hillsborough-based creative non-fiction writer, has been selected as the region's 2024 Piedmont Laureate. Co-sponsored by the City of Raleigh Arts Commission, Durham Arts Council, Orange County Arts Commission and United Arts Council of Raleigh & Wake County, the Piedmont Laureate program is dedicated to building a literary bridge for residents to come together and celebrate the art of writing. Petrow will host workshops, reading programs and speaking engagements as Laureate.

It Ain't All Black and White Exhibit

 It Ain't All Black and White, is a photography exhibition curated by North Carolina-based photographer Leticia Clementina at Block Gallery. The exhibit showcases 10 dynamic photographers dedicated to documenting the fullness and complexity of Black life. Featured photographers include Derrick Beasley, Mark Anthony Brown Jr., Samantha Everette, Chris Facey, Titus Brooks Heagins, Gadisse Lee, Phillip "King Phill" Loken, Jaylan Rhea, and Cornell Watson.

On view: October 4, 2023 through February 23, 2024
