At approximately 11:01 am, a Raleigh Police Department School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to Southeast Raleigh High School reported that a juvenile was stabbed during an altercation involving other students.
Responding officers and school security quickly secured the scene and rendered first-aid to two juvenile victims who were transported to a local hospital. Sadly, the 15-year-old victim succumbed to their injuries while a 16-year-old victim remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Raleigh Police Officers obtained a secure custody order for a 14-year-old juvenile suspect, and he was charged with murder on a juvenile petition.
Officers and detectives continue working with Wake County Public School officials to investigate this incident.
