The Raleigh Police Department has arrested Mykel Marks, 21, in connection with this incident. Marks is charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and Possession of a Firearm by Felon.

At approximately 5:32 PM, the Raleigh Police Department responded to the 300 block of Chavis Way due to reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Officers and detectives are currently on scene determining the circumstances surrounding this incident. The presence of officers in the 300 block of South Blount Street is related to the shooting and ongoing investigation.
This appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no danger to the public.
