At approximately 9:41 AM, the Raleigh Police Department responded to an assault on the greenway on the Walnut Creek Trail Greenway off of Lake Wheeler Road, near Centennial Campus.
The individual reporting the assault described the suspect as a white male, 5’6”- 6'0”, wearing a fluorescent green windbreaker and shorts.
This is an ongoing investigation. The Raleigh Police Department is working with the North Carolina State University Police on this incident.

As a reminder to greenway users:
- Patrons should be aware of their surroundings on the trail.
- The use of headphones is discouraged.
