The Loop is sent on Tuesday and Thursday each week, informing employees when articles have been published on Corecon or our public site. Special editions can be sent out other days as needed.

We extend our heartfelt thanks and best wishes to Assistant City Manager Jim Greene as he leaves the City of Raleigh to become City Manager of Salisbury. Jim has been with us since his appointment as an ACM in 2014. During his tenure, Jim has worked with most departments and has taken the lead on many crucial issues centered around economic development.  Please join us in congratulating Jim and extending our deepest gratitude for his leadership and friendship to the COR family.

Council Approves Raise for Full-Time Employees

On April 19, Raleigh City Council approved a two-percent cost of living adjustment (COLA) to go into effect as soon as possible. Check out the article for more information. An FAQ is also available.

Please Welcome Our Newest Assistant City Manager

Nyki Hill is Raleigh’s newest Assistant City Manager and will join our team on May 2. City Manager Marchell Adams-David announced her appointment during the April 19 City Council meeting. Mrs. Hill’s portfolio will include internal services. She comes to us from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and has more than 17 years in local government service. Please join us in welcoming Nyki Hill!

Earth Day Presentation Set For April 22 Join Wellness for Life as they host an Earth Day presentation covering the City of Raleigh's recycling program. Amanda Astor, the Community Relations Analyst for the City of Raleigh's Solid Waste Services Department, will cover where items are recycled and what they become. Amanda has been with the City of Raleigh for six years and has focused on outreach and education for recycling as well as internal and external communications for the Solid Waste Services department. New Promotional Merchandise Contract The City of Raleigh is now under contract with Geiger (formerly "Anything Imprints") for all promotional merchandise. The City is moving to a strategy that's more intentional and sustainable around these items, but recognizes the need does exist, especially as events in person return. While we are building the online storefront, please stick to the current selection of items, and get ahead of end of fiscal year orders. Read More

City IT partnered with Microsoft to provide two Microsoft Teams Level 100 virtual training sessions in April. Submitting Content for The Loop and/or Corecon

To submit content, visit support.raleighnc.gov. The portal is named "Corecon and The LoopContent Add/Change." 

The submittal deadline is NOON on the day before you'd like it to appear. This deadline exists for several reasons - it takes time to locate and edit images, write and/or edit content, upload articles to CORECON, and organize The Loop. For this reason, requests submitted after the deadline will not appear in the next edition.

In general, new articles will appear on Corecon for 30 days. In The Loop, articles will first appear at the top, then move to the "News and Reminders" section until their dates have passed. Time-sensitive information will re-appear at the top as the date approaches.

Photos and/or images are encouraged and should be in .jpg format sized 600 x 450 (4:3 ratio). Pixlr is a great website for editing and resizing photos.
