Did you know that Volunteer Raleigh is a part of the Neighborhood Enrichment Services (NES) Division of the City of Raleigh? There are many programs in NES that strengthen communities, including Digital Connectors, Partnership Raleigh, Foster Grandparents, Neighborhood Enrichment Funds, Hispanic-Latino Initiatives, and Citizens Leadership Academy. They all work to improve the quality of life for our citizens. Each program has a special focus but all share a common goal of improving where we live, work and play.
As the season changes and warm weather moves in, I hope that there will be many opportunities to connect with Volunteer Raleigh and its sister programs. If you would like to learn more about NES, please email volunteer.raleigh@raleighnc.gov
Thanks for all you do!

Spotlight on Volunteer
Described as a man who was formed in the arms of mentors, Tavarius Felton seeks to give back to others in any way he can. When asked about his service work, he shared, “Community is everything I’m passionate about.”
Boys and Girls Club was part of his own youth, and he has used his past experiences to help ignite a passion to organize volunteers in Wake County. In 2018, he started a mental health organization that seeks to help others become the best version of themselves by offering community service opportunities, mental health blogs, and life coaching. Just three years later, he partnered with the Boys and Girls Club and Meals on Wheels to offer more resources to those in need by beginning a campaign to generate more volunteer support. Tavarius shared, “I believe that if we can all work together, we will generate the peace and love needed to heal the world.”
