2021 Project Recap
We added 16 new sidewalks to Raleigh streets!
Other projects completed:
Cross Link Drive Traffic Calming Project - added new sidewalks and traffic calming devices along the roadway.
Gorman Street Connector Project - provided a vital bike and pedestrian connection to the Heart to Art Greenway trail.
Under construction
Yonkers Road: This project is almost complete. The contractor has opened the roadway back up to two-way traffic along the entire corridor. They are working on sidewalk modifications along the corridor and will proceed with the final paving and striping as weather allows.
Tryon Road: Crews switched traffic to the new pavement along the project's north side in early December. Currently, they are working on the last of the stormwater infrastructure, new sidewalk, and the medians.
Navaho Drive: The project started construction early this fall. Construction of two retaining walls along the corridor requires the contractor to close the road to traffic between Bush Street and Executive Drive.
Poole Road: Crews are finishing up the clearing operations along Poole Road this December, and in January, they will start installing the new storm drain system. Raleigh Water is working near Poole Road. Learn more about the Neuse River East Parallel Interceptor Project.
Leesville Safe Routes to School: This project adds new sidewalk and bike lanes along Oneal Drive, Pride Way, and Country Trail. The contractor has completed the new sidewalk on Country Trail and is working along Pride Way.
