Raleigh Police Investigate Atlantic Avenue Hit and Run Pedestrian Fatality

Raleigh Police officers are investigating a pedestrian traffic fatality that occurred at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Sego Court. Officers were dispatched to the location at 2:44 a.m. Upon arrival, they located an adult male pedestrian who had been struck by a pick-up truck. The victim did not survive his injuries. Preliminary investigation indicates the victim was crossing Atlantic Avenue when he was struck by the pick-up truck. The occupants of the truck fled the scene on foot.

Both directions of Atlantic Avenue at Sego Court are temporarily closed as the investigation continues. A wreck report will be provided once it is completed. There are no additional details at this time.
