Arrest Made: Serious Injury Traffic Crash Closes Section of Capital Boulevard

Raleigh Police Department officers have arrested and charged Victor Mogunde Ogembo (DOB 4/22/82) with Felony Hit and Run Causing Serious Injury, Driving While Impaired, Driving Without an Operator's License, and Careless and Reckless Driving in connection with this crash. Capital Boulevard at Buffaloe Road is now reopened.

The information below was disseminated at 6:12 a.m.:

Raleigh Police Department officers are investigating a serious injury traffic crash involving a motorcycle and a car at the intersection of Capital Boulevard and Buffaloe Road.

Officers were dispatched at approximately 2:49 a.m. and when they arrived at the scene, they located two individuals who were traveling on the motorcycle. The adult female passenger was suffering with serious injuries; she was transported for treatment. The driver of the car fled the scene.

Northbound Capital Boulevard at Buffaloe Road is temporarily shut down as the investigation continues. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find alternate routes. A wreck report concerning the crash will be provided after the investigation has been completed. No further information is available at this time.
