Serious Injury Traffic Crash Closes Section of Tryon Road

At approximately 5:45 a.m., Raleigh Police Department officers were dispatched to a traffic crash at the intersection of Tryon Road and Durham Drive. Upon arrival, they found the passenger in one of the involved vehicles suffering with serious injuries. He was transported for treatment.
Tryon Road is temporarily shut down between S. Wilmington Street and Hammond Road as the investigation continues. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find alternate routes. A wreck report concerning the crash will be provided after the investigation has been completed. No further information is available at this time.
