Arrests Made: Raleigh Police Investigate Shooting on Milburnie Road

Homicide detectives have charged Damauri Javante Barnes, 18, and Justin Mekhi Perry, 18, with murder in connection with the death of Steve Martin. They have been transported to the Wake County Detention Center. Their photos are available at links below.

The victim in this incident has been identified as Steve Alphonso Martin, 38.

The victim in this incident did not survive his injuries. This is now a homicide that is being investigated by RPD detectives. Anyone with information that might assist this investigation is asked to call Raleigh Police.
The information below was disseminated at 8:02 p.m. on February 25:
At approximately 6:48 p.m., Raleigh Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2100 block of Milburnie Road. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering with a gunshot wound. He was transported to WakeMed for treatment of his injuries.
Officers and detectives are on-scene and conducting a follow-up investigation.
