UPDATE: Charge Upgraded to Murder in Trawick Road Homicide

The charge against Jeffrey Steven Lynch has been upgraded from Assault With a Dangerous Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury With Intent To Kill to Murder in the October 25, 2020 shooting death of Justin Carlton Jones. A photo of Lynch is attached below.
The information below was disseminated at 6:14 p.m. on Oct. 25, 2020:
This incident is now a homicide investigation and the decedent has been identified as Justin Carlton Jones, 25. Also, two arrests have been made in connection with this incident; Julius Jamaal McKinney (DOB 8/1/82) and Jeffrey Steven Lynch (DOB 1/10/82) have both been charged with Assault With a Dangerous Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury With Intent To Kill. The investigation is ongoing.

At approximately 2:21 a.m., Raleigh Police Department officers responded to a shooting in the 1700 block of Trawick Road. Four adult males sustained gunshot injuries; one was transported to WakeMed by EMS and the other three were transported in private vehicles. The investigation is ongoing.
