COVID-19 Relief Programs 

Mortgage, Utility, and Rent Relief Program

Has your business experienced extraordinary business disruption and not been able to open due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic? The NC Department of Commerce’s new Mortgage, Utility and Rent Relief (MURR) Program will be available to qualifying businesses to help with some of your fixed costs. To qualify, your organization must meet certain eligibility criteria. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are not yet available but will be soon.

Eligibility for the MURR Program is limited to the following types of businesses:

  • Amusement Arcades (except gambling)
  • Amusement ParksBanquet Halls (with Catering Staff)
  • Bars, Taverns, Night Clubs, Cocktail Lounges
  • Bingo Parlors
  • Bowling Alleys/Centers
  • Dance Halls
  • Indoor Fitness and Recreation Centers
  • Motion Picture/Movie Theaters (except drive-ins)
  • Museums

Wake Forward Loan Program

Wake Forward provides loans to small business owners struggling financially due to COVID-19. Wake Forward allocates $5 million in total to support small businesses in Wake County, with $1 million of that funding set aside for sole proprietor businesses. Administered by the NC Rural Economic Development Center Inc., the program enables small businesses to apply for two months of lost revenues, up to $50,000. Applicants must meet the required criteria outlined by the Wake Forward program and NC Rapid Recovery. Loan terms apply. Learn more.

Thread Capital Rapid Recovery Loan Program

The Thread Capital COVID-19 Rapid Recovery Loan is available to North Carolina small businesses and family farms to support their recovery from the economic impact of COVID-19. This rapid recovery loan helps small businesses bridge the gap between when crisis strikes and when federal loans, insurance payouts, and other relief funds are approved, or businesses have time to recover. Raleigh Small Business Relief Fund Still Accepting Donations

Donations from the private sector and individuals are still being accepted to increase the total amount of funding available for Raleigh small businesses impacted by COVID-19 that meet the program requirements. Donations are accepted through the Carolina Small Business Development Fund and Wake Tech’s Rally Fund . Thank you for your contribution.
